No Works, Right?

 Eph. 2:8-98 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

the gospel means good news and according to this salvation, going to heaven is a free gift no strings attached just faith no works.  In other words "faith alone in Christ Alone" 

simple right. People always want to add work.  like if you truly believe you will have works.  That's not free.  or promising to not sin? that's not free?  So what is the free gift?  I'm leaving this open-ended so you all can think about it?
